The short answer
First identify whether you are waiting to sign in or waiting to join a match. Check current official notices and watch for an actual error or loss of responsiveness. We have no verified WARDOGS timeout threshold or restart trick, so an unchanged queue position alone is not proof that the client is broken.

Identify your queue
Before pressing anything, record the exact text on screen. A queue before reaching the menu and a wait after choosing a server are different observations. Follow the wording your current client actually displays; we have not independently inspected its interface.
If the menu is still responsive and the client shows a position, leave that information visible while reading the server-status checklist. Do not assume the position will refresh at a fixed interval.
Decide whether a restart is justified
Use this decision sequence as general troubleshooting, not a developer-confirmed WARDOGS fix:
- Official maintenance or capacity notice: follow the notice and wait for an update. Client configuration is unlikely to resolve a server-side restriction.
- Queue position changes: the queue is providing new information. Continue waiting unless you choose to leave.
- Position is unchanged, but the interface responds: collect another observation without changing your setup. We cannot give a reliable maximum wait time.
- Explicit disconnect or login error: record it, check for a pending Steam update, then try one normal exit and relaunch.
- Client is visibly unresponsive: attempt a normal close first. If necessary, end only the game process through Task Manager. This abandons the current session.
Restarting may require joining a new session; this publication cannot promise that your place will be preserved. Repeated retries also make it harder to tell whether a change helped.
If you reach the server browser
The login stage succeeded. If one selected match is full, use any available capacity information to select another suitable match. If there are no entries at all, switch to the empty server browser checks.
Do not treat an unrelated error code as a capacity error without official confirmation. Save the full message, including any surrounding text.
What to record for support
Keep a simple timeline: time joined, queue wording, any visible position changes, final error and whether the menu remained responsive. Add the client name and visible version if present. That is more useful than “queue broken.”
No DNS change, paid VPN or local file deletion is presented here as a queue bypass. If you already tried a network or settings change without improvement, return it to the previous value before testing again.
