WARDOGS best settings: build a baseline for your PC

A practical settings worksheet for your hardware. Understand the trade-offs without relying on an untested universal preset.

The short answer

We do not yet have a tested best-settings preset for WARDOGS. Use the game's own preset as a starting point, record it, and adjust only controls available in your build against the same scene. The best result is a repeatable balance of clarity, responsiveness and stability on your hardware.

What is and is not established

This page is a worksheet, not a benchmark-backed prescription. We have not opened the game’s graphics menu, verified every control name or compared graphics cards. The following groups describe common PC graphics trade-offs. Use a row only if your installed build offers the relevant control.

Treat the hardware targets on the Steam store as developer guidance, not measurements from this site. Check their resolution and upscaling conditions before comparing them with your own results.

Save a recovery point

Take screenshots of the original graphics pages before changing them. Write down your current resolution and preset, and note whether changing a particular option asks for a restart. If the game offers a built-in preset reset, identify it before experimenting.

Use the low-FPS baseline procedure to choose one test scene. Decide what matters for your setup: steadier motion, clearer distant detail, lower delay or quieter operation. A recommendation cannot optimize every one of those simultaneously.

Build your own settings worksheet

Control group, if available What to compare What to preserve in your notes
Output resolution Current display resolution against a lower value Legibility and observed frame-rate change
Render scale or upscaling The current mode against one alternative Fine-detail stability while moving
Shadows, lighting or reflections One option reduced by one step Scene, exact value and visual difference
Texture quality Current setting against a lower setting Clarity, stutters and repeatability
Motion blur Your preferred clarity setting Personal visual preference, not an assumed FPS gain
Frame cap or synchronization The current configuration against one alternative Tearing, smoothness and responsiveness

The table does not imply that every listed feature ships in WARDOGS. In particular, it does not confirm any specific DLSS, FSR or frame-generation implementation.

Change, compare, keep or restore

Apply one change and return to the same scene. Repeat the observation rather than choosing a result from a different match. If the image becomes distracting or the improvement is not reproducible, restore the recorded value.

If the game becomes unstable, revert the last change and retest. Persistent launch failures belong in the crash checklist, not in a increasingly aggressive performance preset.

When this page can include a tested preset

A future tested profile needs a visible build or version, exact hardware and driver, screenshots of the available settings, a repeatable scene and measured before-and-after results. Until those exist, a copied list of “best” values would convey confidence we have not earned.
