Server-side, not your install

This guide covers the AION 2 Global PC release through Steam and PURPLE. Community connection reports and NC’s disconnect FAQ were reviewed on 28 October 2026. We have not reproduced the disconnects in a running client.

The most common launch-window error is being sent back to the login screen with “Unable to connect to game server. Moving to login screen.” Players report it specifically when teleporting into a dungeon, while the open world still works normally.

Why the dungeon teleport drops you

Instanced content such as dungeons is handled by a cross-server layer. Under the pressure of launch-day load, that cross-server bridge can time out and bounce you back to the login screen. This is a server-side condition, not a defect in your installation.

  • Do not reinstall. Reinstalling wastes time and bandwidth and does not change a server-side timeout.
  • Wait a minute or two, then log back in and re-queue for the dungeon. The disconnect is often intermittent and most players get back in quickly.
  • Account clearances clear unevenly: if a party member is locked out while you jump straight back in, keep trying. If the whole game world (not just dungeons) is unreachable for a long period, treat it as an NC-side network incident and follow the official feed.

First separate this from a launch problem

If the game will not start at all — logo, NCGUARD error, UE fatal error or a stuck launcher — that is a different issue. See the AION 2 won’t-launch guide for those checks. If the game starts but you cannot get past the login screen at all, check the server status and queue guide to tell maintenance apart from capacity.

Region and availability

AION 2 Global is restricted in some regions. If the game is unavailable from your location, updating drivers or graphics settings will not fix it. A server-selection screen is not a change in service eligibility — check the current availability list before troubleshooting your network.

What to check on your side

Only after you have confirmed there is no current service notice:

  • Restart the launcher once (a launcher restart fixed “temporarily unavailable” login loops for players in earlier congested periods).
  • Use a wired (Ethernet) connection while testing, and close VPN and overlay software.
  • Set Windows time to automatic — a clock drift can interfere with login-server handshakes.

What to send to support

NC’s disconnect FAQ asks unresolved reports to include your current country, when the problem began and your ISP. Add the region and server, a timestamp with time zone, and any exact error text. Match a notice’s region and date to your failure — an older outage report does not establish a current outage.

What we have not confirmed

These are community-reported behaviours and official support guidance, not a tested fix, and we have not reproduced them in a running client. The NA West Nezekan character-selection and latency issue and the October 8 EU cloud-service outage were both marked resolved as of earlier checks; treat them as historical examples, not current status.
