Check the current binding first

Open Settings > Controls and look for the current Change Seat and Exit Vehicle bindings. Use the action shown in your installed build rather than assuming that an online key list matches your setup. WARDOGS is in Early Access, and this site has not independently tested the current client.

Why online key advice conflicts

  • Official support reply: in a Steam discussion, Team17 Support confirmed that one player held the letter O, waited for the meter, and changed seats. This confirms that player’s reported method; it does not establish a universal or current default binding.
  • Third-party key lists: Shacknews and BisectHosting list Next Seat: numeric 0 and Previous Seat: 9. These are reference tables, not a check of your current controls.
  • Different vehicle action: a third-party helicopter guide lists hold O for Exit Vehicle, which is another reason not to assume the letter O always means Change Seat.

The letter O and the digit 0 are different inputs. The sources do not resolve which binding applies to every vehicle, controller, or current build. Do not treat O and 0 as interchangeable or as a guaranteed fix.

If the bound action still does not respond

Record your game version, vehicle and seat, input device, the action name and binding shown in Settings > Controls, and exactly what appears on screen when you use it. A player in the cited Steam discussion later reported a Logitech G Hub conflict; that is an individual report, not proof of a common cause or a recommended universal fix. Include any relevant input software in a bug report rather than changing several settings at once.

FAQ

Should I press O or 0 to change seats?

The available sources conflict. Team17 Support’s reply describes holding the letter O in one player’s case; multiple third-party control lists identify the digit 0 as Next Seat and 9 as Previous Seat. Check your current binding in Settings > Controls. We have not tested the current client.

Does holding O always change seats?

No universal binding is established by the reviewed evidence. The official reply addresses one player’s method, while another third-party guide assigns hold O to Exit Vehicle in a helicopter context. Use the action currently shown in your controls.

Is a third-party input program definitely the cause?

No. One Steam discussion participant attributed their individual problem to Logitech G Hub. That report does not show that input software is a common cause. If you report the issue, include the software and the exact binding/result you observed.
